Join Us at the IceHogs
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and we’ll be at the Rockford IceHogs game to celebrate.
Join us as the IceHogs take on the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday, March 6, at the BMO Harris Bank Center. It’s also National Dress in Blue Day to further spotlight the month, so pair something blue with your IceHogs gear.
Colorectal Cancer is the third most diagnosed cancer and the second-leading cause of cancer death for men and women in the U.S. But it’s one of the few cancers that’s preventable through screening such as colonoscopy, which is the gold standard.
A colonoscopy is safe and effective and allows for removal of polyps, which are the precursors of colon cancer. The recommended age to start screening is age 50 (age 45 for African Americans) or sooner if you have a family history of polyps or colon cancer.
