John DeGuide MD

Dr. John J. DeGuide is a board certified in Gastroenterology and joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd in 2003. Dr. DeGuide graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1985 with a degree in Chemistry. He received his M.D. in 1989 from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB in Texas. Prior to moving to Rockford, Dr. DeGuide held the position of chief of the Gastroenterology at Wright-Patterson USAF Medical Center in Ohio. Additionally, he was the former co-director of the GI department at Rockford Health System.

Dr. DeGuide is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Gas-troenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology and of the American College of Physicians. Dr. DeGuide is on the Executive Board of the Winnebago County Medical Society. He also is a board member of the Illinois State Medical Society and serves as Secretary-Treasurer. Additionally, he has been in many leadership positions at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center including serving as Medical Staff President. Dr. DeGuide is trained in the broad discipline of Gastro-enterology and Hepatology and has special interest in inflammatory bowel and liver disease.
