Christopher Gibbs MD

Dr. Christopher M. Gibbs joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates in 2008. Dr. Gibbs obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California San Diego and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and chief residency at the Mayo Clinic and his gastroenterology fellowship at Stanford University. Dr. Gibbs is board certified in Gastroenterology.

Dr. Gibbs is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, where he currently serves on the Dean’s Action Council and previously served on the Strategic Planning Committee. Dr. Gibbs was previously elected President of the Winnebago County Medical Society and continues to serve on its Board of Directors and as a delegate to the Illinois State Medical Society. He has served as Chairman of Medicine and Vice Chairman of Medicine at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. He maintains memberships in the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Gibbs is trained in the broad discipline of gastroenterology and hepatology. He also has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).
